Editor & Content Specialist

I turn complicated, still-changing information into content people can actually use.

Right now I write and edit retailer-facing content for the Wizards Play Network. The program changes quickly, so a lot of my job is checking that an article still matches the current rules, the retailer dashboard, and the other guidance a store might read next.

Before Wizards, I edited books, engineering and legal reports, training materials, blog posts, and product content. That editing background is probably why I notice the sentence that looks fine by itself and becomes a problem when you put it next to everything else.

My contract at Wizards is tied to a project that's wrapping up, so I'm looking for my next role in content, communications, editorial operations, or publishing. I'm in Seattle and open to hybrid or remote.

Wizards Play Network retailer content

A major WPN update created a lot of connected guidance that had to stay accurate while the program changed underneath it. My work spans writing, substantial revision, editorial QA, Contentful preparation, and localization handoff.

Two kinds of work

Where I fit

My work falls into two closely related areas.

Web content & editorial operations

I write and edit articles, announcements, FAQs, emails, and interface copy, then carry approved content through QA, CMS staging, and localization handoff. Most of what I catch comes from reading those pieces as a set instead of one at a time.

  • Web articles, announcements, and FAQs
  • Editing and substantive revision
  • Editorial QA and cross-document review
  • Contentful staging and publishing handoff
  • Cross-functional review coordination
  • Localization readiness

Editorial & publishing

Manuscript work, from developmental notes down to the final proofread. Seven years of editorial work across fiction, technical, and instructional material, most of it under Chicago Manual of Style. I work with authors directly, and I query rather than assume.

  • Developmental and line editing
  • Copyediting and proofreading
  • Author collaboration and queries
  • Style sheets and Chicago Manual of Style
  • Fact-checking and continuity
