About
About me
I started in publishing and technical editing, then moved toward content operations because I kept getting interested in problems that only show up when you read across a whole set of documents.
One article uses a term differently from the related content. Two pages explain the same process in different ways. An article ships accurate and quietly goes stale later. That's the work I end up doing most now, and it's the part I'm best at.
How I work
Hand me a brief and I start by figuring out what the reader needs to understand or be able to do afterward. That tells me what the piece needs to cover and how it should be structured.
From there I gather context, check what already exists on the topic, and choose a structure that fits the content. I outline systems-heavy material first. Simpler explainers I draft straight through and revise hard.
Sometimes the answer I need never made it into the brief. I track down the right program manager, confirm the decision, and check the related content to see what else needs to change.
Before anything ships, I check it against current source documentation, related live content, and how the thing being described actually behaves. Then it goes through stakeholder review and a final voice and style pass. If a draft is accurate but reads like a training module, it isn't finished.
AI helps me digest meetings, compare source material, test ideas, and spot inconsistencies across a set of documents. I verify what it surfaces, make the editorial calls myself, and anything headed for publication goes through human review.
I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, so I think about localization while I'm drafting instead of waiting for handoff. My time editing engineering and legal reports also permanently changed how I read. I check the thing everyone assumes is fine.
